Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Embro
Embro is the world's first game incubation platform. We connect people with mod and game ideas to developers who can build them, with community funding to make it all happen.
Simply create an account, navigate to our Project/Idea Creator. It is a simply wizard to help you fill in the details about your idea or project.
How do developers earn money?
Developers earn any escrowed funds by claiming and completing a first release. When community members fund a project, that money goes into a pool. Once the developer completes and releases the idea, they receive the funding.
What games are supported?
Any game! Games you can mod, or games that don't even exist yet! You can browse our games library or import games from IGDB.
How does the idea funding system work?
Idea creators and interested players can contribute funds to an idea's pool. Once the idea is completed and approved, the developer receives the full raised amount. The idea than turns into a project that can be updated and expanded upon.
Can I claim multiple projects?
Yes! Individual developers can have up to 2 active claims and 10 pending claims at a time. Teams also have separate limits. This ensures developers can manage their workload effectively.
What if a developer doesn't complete a project?
Projects have activity tracking. If a developer goes 30 days without progress updates, they receive warnings. Claims may be expired and the project reopened for other developers to claim. The funds remains available for the next claimant.
Can I work on ideas and projection as a team?
Absolutely! You can create teams and claim ideas and projects together. Team claims have separate limits from individual claims, and funds are paid to the team account.
On any idea or project page, you'll find a "Fund This Project" button if it has an active funding goal. You can contribute any amount to the project's pool. All contributions are secure and held until the idea is completed. Not all ideas require funding! We offer many different project goals to fit your needs.
What happens if I change my mind about an idea?
You can edit or delete your ideas before they have any active claims or funding. Once a project has active development or funding, it cannot be deleted to protect everyone's investment. If you delete your account Embro will assume idea ownership until a developer or team claims the project. It will than be transferred to the claimant on first release.
We charge a small platform fee to cover hosting, development, and support costs. The exact percentage is transparent and shown before any transactions. Developers receive the full amount raised after fees.
